Description
The state legislature and university officials have designated “Modeling and Simulation” as an area of critical importance for the university system. Currently, the focus is on expanding graduate education and research in M&S as it is applied to all fields. All the colleges within ODU are participating in this endeavor.
The College of Health Sciences at ODU offers classes and graduate programs in M&S. Students in all Schools within the College of Health Sciences as well as non-degree seeking students could benefit from a working understanding of Modeling and Simulation in Health Sciences. M&S has rapidly become an integral part of nearly all aspects of Health Sciences from mathematical epidemiology to use of simulators for clinical training. We believe it is important to give Health Sciences graduate students an opportunity to develop competency in Modeling and Simulation. Such competency has the potential to create more competitive graduates as well as providing for additional research opportunities for students.
