  • The College of Health Sciences was created in order to highlight and coordinate Old Dominion University's existing health related programs. The College enrolls over 1,500 students and graduates approximately 500 annually. Our highly qualified faculty are engaged in teaching, research, service, and health care delivery.
  • The College has recently developed a Strategic Plan (PDF) and appointed an Advisory Board to help the College address the University's goals of Learning, Discovery, and Engagement. Please take a look.
  • Course-related experience is gained in community-based settings related to the discipline or program both on and off campus. Students receive training in clinics, hospitals, and other health care settings, both rural and urban.
  • The College is host to a number of student organizations and honor societies. Click here to view the web page for the ODU Chapter of the Alpha Eta Honor Society .
  • The College also has a variety of international linkages through its faculty research and exchange programs.
  • Each of the College of Health Sciences offered health-related programs is accredited by the appropriate agency and all students who successfully complete the program of study are eligible to sit for licensing or certifying examinations throughout the United States.
  • Most undergraduate programs require full-time study. Post-baccalaureate Certificates and most of the graduate level programs leading to master's and doctoral degrees can be completed part time.
  • Admission to a health-related program at Old Dominion University:
    • is not guaranteed with acceptance to the University;
    • requires a separate application to the respective discipline;
    • is limited by the number of students which can be accommodated.
