Curriculum for BSDH Completion Program
A minimum of 120 semester credit hours are required for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. Thirty credit hours must be completed either online or in residency at Old Dominion University. A post Certificate or Associate in Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene is a prerequisite to admission.

LOWER DIVISION

- English Composition I & II 6 hours
- Mathematics (Statistics) 3 hours
- Foreign Language 0-6 hours (exempt if graduated from HS prior to 12/85)
- Computer Skills 0-3 hours
- Perspectives
- Fine and Performing Arts 3 hours
- History 3 hours
- English Literature 3 hours
- Philosophy 3 hours
- Natural Science 12 hours plus Nutrition
- Social Science - 6 hours
- Option A - any approved minor, (12-24 hours), second degree or second major.
- Option B - (9) credit hours from any approved cluster ( 3 hours may be in major area of study).

- Dental Hygiene Major Requirements:
- Current Certificate in Basic Life Support (CPR and Obstructed Airway) prior to enrolling in any courses
