Jewel S. Goodman
Jewel S. Goodman is this year's Doctoral Fellow in the Ph.D. program in Health Services Research. The Fellowship provides a full year of support and travel money each year for one student who is at the dissertation stage. Ms. Goodman's research will focus on the role of community safety-net health care providers in assuring prescription medication access for uninsured adult patients managing chronic conditions.Her prior research includes studies of community health fairs and their impact on the community, as well as studies related to protecting children from childhood sexual abuse. In March 2006, she was invited to present her work to state delegates and representatives at the First Annual Graduate Student Research Forum in Richmond.
